For our client, an international investment company, we are looking for an experienced 

Head of Compliance & AMLCO 

to join its Cyprus-based regulated entity.

Primary location: Cyprus

Division: Compliance / Alternative Investment Fund Management (AIFM)

About the Role:

This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the compliance and AML/CFT framework of a licensed investment management business. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management, the Board of Directors, regulators, and international stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.

The role offers exposure to complex regulatory matters, cross-border projects, and strategic business initiatives within a growing international financial services group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Compliance and AML functions of the Cyprus entity
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with CySEC, AIFMD, AML/CFT and other applicable regulatory requirements
  • Act as AMLCO and primary contact for regulatory authorities
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports, notifications, and compliance documentation
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Conduct compliance monitoring and risk assessments
  • Oversee KYC, customer due diligence, sanctions screening, and AML investigations
  • Advise senior management and the Board on regulatory developments and compliance risks
  • Support regulatory inspections, audits, and cross-border compliance initiatives within the Group

Your Profile:

  • University degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • CySEC Advanced Certificate (mandatory)
  • CySEC AML Certificate (mandatory)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Compliance and/or AML within the investment sector
  • Proven experience gained with an investment firm, AIFM, UCITS Management Company, asset manager, fund manager, or another regulated investment business
  • Strong knowledge of CySEC regulations, AIFMD requirements, AML/CFT legislation, and regulatory reporting
  • Experience interacting directly with regulators and managing regulatory inspections
  • Fluency in Greek and English is mandatory
  • Russian language skills would be considered a strong advantage
  • Ability to work independently and operate effectively in an international environment
